Brief History

Founded
The Department of International and Comparative Education was founded in 1995 as the Graduate Institute of Comparative Education.The Institute is one of the five pioneer graduate institutes created at the National Chi Nan University.
Further renamed
In 1998, the doctoral program was established. In 2002, the undergraduate program was further included, thus the Institute was renamed as the Department of Comparative Education. In 2011, it is further renamed as the Department of International and Comparative Education(DICE).
Best known
In Taiwan as the only institution which specifically focuses on the study of international education and comparative education, the department offers a 4-year first-degree program with a total enrolment of more than 200 undergraduate students. In addition, there are currently more than 50 full-time and part-time MA and doctoral students registered in the department.
